Are you ready to join the ranks of the Internet’s most successful entrepreneurs?

Not only is it fun and extremely profitable, blogging can also become a tremendous way to express yourself. Sharing your thoughts, ideas, desires, and yes even your dreams are OK, as long as your audience finds your content to be interesting, informative and helpful.

Value and benefits are what your readers want to receive from your blog or website. You could be sitting on an online goldmine but will never know for sure unless you give your ideas a chance to work.

Blogging may be the answer to your financial goals and dreams. You probably have some questions so this may help.

Some of the most common questions we receive:

  • How much money can I make?
  • Do I have to be a good writer?
  • Will I need to my own website
  • Who will help me?
  • How long will it take me to become successful?
  • What kind of work will I be doing?

Naturally, there are many other questions we get and you may have a few of your own. Let’s see if we can shed some light on these questions and hopefully this will give you a good idea of what awaits you as a successful blogger.

Not all bloggers earn the kind of money they dream of.  Although it’s true that some bloggers are able to support their families and beyond, there are still others who never reach their financial goals.

Salaries for bloggers can vary widely.  According to some experts on this topic earnings for freelance bloggers can range from $10 to $100 for short posts.

Owning and operating your own blog may take a bit more work, but in the long run, could provide you with a great deal more income than working for someone else. Why make someone else rich would be my first thought on this. ran a survey of 1,000 independent bloggers that revealed around 17% were able to provide a good enough living that could support them and their family.

This same survey found that out of the 1,000 bloggers they questioned, 81% were unable to make $100 from blogging.

On the other hand, we have discovered that the multi-million dollar income producing blogs were developed over a period of three to five years by people who would be least likely to succeed in this business.

Incomes for independent bloggers range from an average of $19,000 to $79,000 thousand a year with the top income earners making as much as $100,000 to over a million per month.  Making six figures with your blog is definitely possible, given enough time and persistence.

Our own research has provided me with enough evidence that if you have a good idea for a niche and you’re willing to take the time to learn how to build your own website or blog and you stay with it, over time you’ll win and could win big!

Success won’t come quickly or easily, especially if you do not have proper guidance and support.

If you do your own research into how much money bloggers can earn, you will find that it’s all over the board.

The real truth about making money as a blogger is entirely up to you. Desire, determination and the ability to stay with it long enough is what we believe is the real key to making the kind of income you may be looking for.

No. If you are able to put your thoughts down on paper about a topic you are passionate about you can put it online.

NOTE:  Wealthy Affiliate Members receive expert guidance on how to write attention-grabbing content.

I have always enjoyed writing about how I felt about many topics.  Not once did I think about – or care what others thought about how my sentence structure, grammar or spelling was. This is what stops a lot of people from writing about anything.

All I wanted to do was to write it down.  Sitting still, writing down my thoughts took me to a very comfortable place.

For me, it was a great way to pass the time and express how I felt.

My first article was written at the age of 13 after the death of my Father who was just 38 years old.

My article was short, about one page long – but it was full of passion for the love and heartbreaking loss of my Father.

Although the spelling and grammar would not have gotten me high marks from my English teacher (I was just 13 years old) … here’s what did happen.

Someone from my school sent it to the local newspaper and it got printed. Then it was picked up by the AP and it got printed in almost all the newspapers across the country who participated in the AP Wire News Service.

It may have been because the death of my dad was on Christmas Eve that year, I’m not sure, but because I was able to put my feelings down on paper and it was exposed to others, I became a syndicated author at the age of 13.

The point is this …

If you can write down your thoughts, ideas, and passionate about something that could interest others, you can become a writer.

If you write every day and if you take some suggestions or a writing course as I eventually did, you can get better and better at this terrific outlet called writing.

One of my writing coaches said that if I would write one to two pages of copy every day 4-5 days a week, I would become an excellent writer. Never worry about grammar, spelling etc., you can always hire an editor who will help you look even better in print.

WA or Wealthy Affiliate, our # 1 Choice for an online business training program, includes a tremendous “site content” editor that automatically saves, publishes to your website – and offers help with grammar, spelling and 120 different copywriting tasks, all at no additional cost to Premium members.

This outstanding tool is worth a fortune to anyone who wants to become a successful blogger, e-commerce business owner website builder and website content writer.

So no, I do not feel that I’m a great writer – but I still write and I love to do it. I also use the WA Site Content tool when creating posts, pages, articles and content for my website.

You could be a writer too and probably much better than me. You’ll never know unless you try.

One last thought on this. One of my mentors who, in my opinion, was one of the best writers of our time told me this;

He said: “There are people waiting to hear what you have to say and they will read what you write if what you have to say interests them. So write it down and publish it somewhere!”

No.  A better question would be, should you own a website?

The answer to this is yes!

The fact is if you have plenty of money you can have someone else build a website for you.

However, if you learn how to build your own blog or website you will not only save a great deal of money, you will gain tremendous value and insights from this exercise.   The benefits far outweigh the time it would take for you to learn how to build your own website.

One of the amazing benefits you may never think of is this:  If you create your own website or Blog and grow tired of it or wish to build another one in a different niche, you can sell it for a nice profit.

One Wealthy Affiliate recently did just that.  He started two other sites he was interested in, put his up for sale and within days it sold for $40,000.

You could also earn a tremendous income if you are willing to learn from people who are already making a great living at this and – you stay with it.

Owning a website in our opinion is essential to your success as a blogger.  Building your own website is a question you will need to answer for yourself.

We strongly recommend it.

Write for Other Website Owners?

Many believe that it’s much easier to write for an existing blog or website owner and take what they can get for their posts. Payment’s can range from $50 to as high as $300 per post, most are in the lower classification.

This may be the way you want to go, at least for a while.

However, I can tell you from personal experience if you are serious about making good money as a blogger, you need to build your own site. This has become much easier today so don’t be intimidated by this. Hey, if I can do it so can you.

Here’s a story that could help you see why I decided to build my own site…

As a creative sales copywriter, I was able to work with some companies over the years when I would create the copy and content for websites my clients were building for their business.

I was paid well enough for this work, but once the website was finished and the company launched it, my income ended, theirs did not.

I will never forget the day I decided it was time for me to build my own website…

It hit me right between the eyes.

I was working with a company as a copywriter and marketing adviser. We were developing a website that would sell the company’s products and tell the story behind the man who owned it.

Don’t get me wrong, I was paid well for what I did, and the man and his company were both excellent to work for.

It took me about six months, working with the owner and his web designer/builder to complete that project.

I created all the copy for that site. The web-builder got paid to build the site and place the copy where we wanted it to go and once the site was launched our job was over.

The website builder and yours truly both had to move on to the next project we could find.

Today, several years later, that website is still creating revenue for the company we worked for. We did what we were paid to do. We helped the owner and his company become very successful in his field.

Millions of dollars have been generated by that website and the content we created. Very satisfying actually, however…

The Day My Life Changed:

I needed to build my own website and become a blogger.

I was helping “others” become wealthy and although I was being paid to help them, it was time for me to create my own fortune as an online business owner.

NOTE: Your website becomes valuable online real estate and the revenue it creates would be all yours. If I decided to sell my website one day, for whatever reason, the income potential from the sale could be unlimited.

Many websites become extremely valuable online real estate.

Some have sold for strong six and even seven figures, setting their owners up for life.

So yes, we believe you should build your own website.

And in our opinion, the best place to start is with our number one choice for the training and online tools you need to make this a reality.

Head on over to Our # One Choice to learn more.

This is a great question.  One that has a simple answer.  It is a question I spent a tremendous amount of time and money on getting an answer to.

When I decided it was time for me to become a blogger and a successful online business owner – instead of writing for someone else’s website, I knew that I would need to take time to learn how to my own website, how to create traffic and all that it takes to be a successful online business owner.

To cut to chase, I got hustled by the best in the online world.

I spent a lot of time and money or should say – I “wasted” a lot of valuable time and money until I did some serious homework and research on this subject.

I need to back up a bit before telling you what I discovered…

I had written several training manuals and guides for some sales and marketing companies.

I was paid to do this and have also sold some of my training guides through the direct mail when we were in business in Florida.

I enjoyed this form of writing and marketing but that came to an end when we sold our business in the late 90s.

An idea for a book was on my mind for several months after retiring to the mountains in Tennessee.

I had actually created several chapters for my first motivational/inspirational book. At that time I was thinking I would need a publisher to help me, so I called a friend who did some editing for me when we owned our business in Florida.

I was shocked when he told me that I should look into creating an eBook.  He said this was where the book industry was going today. The eBook industry is exploding, he said.

He also said he would be happy to help with editing, but the truth is there are some online tools available that could do almost as well as he could do.

Sounded to me like he was cutting his own throat, but after further discussion, I found out that he was writing his own eBooks and had little time as an editor. He would help me because of our long friendship if I still needed it but was giving me a chance to take a look at where the book industry was headed.

So, my research into this amazing new industry began. As stated above and throughout this article, after spending a great deal of time and money with eBooks, paid webinars by some great online “hustlers” etc., I finally discovered Wealthy Affiliate.

So the answer to the question of Who Will Help Me? for me is simple.

The folks at WA or Wealthy Affiliate have been helping people for over ten years now, and they do it well, for FREE or as a Premium Member, for an extremely low cost.

Actually, as Premium Member, your earnings as a WA Affiliate can exceed the monthly or annual fee of less than a dollar a day many times over!

Here is a question that is difficult to answer unless we know something about the person asking it.

The truth is in most cases, it will depend upon what you feel success is for you. I don’t mean to be flippant here or sound as though I’m putting this off, I’m merely stating a fact.

Success can be measured in several ways. Most would believe a question like this leans toward “financial success”.

In this case, we would say that you could begin to see some modest financial rewards such as a few hundred dollars per month within six months to a year, depending upon how much time you put into your blog.

There will always be exceptions to this.

Some people put too much stock in an answer to this question, which is why I am doing my best to stay away from telling you or anyone that blogging can make you a great six or seven figure income in one to two years, even though it is possible.

We could put all kinds of numbers down for you, but the truth is, you will be the one to determine the answer to this question.

Once you make up your mind that you are going to become a blogger and you begin the process of building your website, selecting the “niche” you are passionate about and put together a game plan to launch your online business, you will get a better idea of how soon you could begin to earn whatever kind of income you see as success for you.

I really wish there were a better answer to this frequently asked question. The best answer (in my opinion) is that no matter what your goals and dreams are for your blog and online business are if you get after it and never give up, those goals and dreams can be met.

This is an excellent question, one that many online “hustlers” would want to either stay away from or tell you not to worry, we do all the heavy lifting for you… so just grab your credit card and let’s get started.

Naturally, there is going to be some work to do. Nothing in life worth having is free of this nasty little four letter word.

Unless you win the Lottery or you’re already rich enough to do and have all the things that one might desire, you can expect that will be some work to do before success is achieved with your new found business.

Let me say this though, all the work I have had to do – including the time and money I spent with all the “hustlers” who said they could make me successful, has been in many ways, very enjoyable and satisfying.

What you will be doing is learning a “new” and exciting way to express yourself and to earn money.

You’ll be taking steps to ensure your future. This is something that is so valuable no one can explain it.

How will you be ensuring your future?

You’ll be learning a set of skills and discovering a way to earn money that can give you the kind of freedom and lasting security most people will never have.

You’ll be spending time with people who have gone before you in a field that may at first seem completely foreign to you. I know because that’s how I felt when I started my training.

You’ll be going “back to school” so to speak, so if you don’t like school or learning something new, then this may not be for you. I don’t expect this to be the case since you are here, and have reached this point in this message, but understand one thing about this:

You must be prepared to go through some training and be prepared to take some action steps to get your online business up and running.

You’ll also have to spend time with your audience, once you learn how to drive some traffic to your blog or website.

All these skills and steps are:

  • Fun to learn
  • Easy to do
  • Reliable and
  • Profitable

So, although there is some work to do, it is not physical labor, you can work at your own pace and it can become a very enjoyable., satisfying way to earn a great living.
The end results could prove to be a better way of life for you and your family. Live and work where you want.

Waking up to your dream come true is what it’s all about.

The sky truly is the limit when it comes to making money as a blogger and online business owner.

Let me be the first to congratulate you on your new found success!
